در این بخش قصد داریم برنامه های معروف لینوکس را معرفی کنیم.

K3B نرم افزاری برای انجام خدماتBurning (همچون ایجاد سی دی های صوتی،کپی کردن سی دی و دی وی دی و ... ) می باشد که برای لینوکس ایجاد و برای محیط KDE بهینه سازی شده است.
این نرم افزار از محیط گرافیکی بسیار مناسبی را برای این کار بهره می برد و عملیات روی سی دی ها را با استفاده از برنامه های خط فرمان چون cdrecord،cdrdao و growisofs انجام می دهد.

ویژگی ها:

• Creating data cds:
o Add files and folders to your data cd project via drag'n'drop.
o Remove files from your project, move files within your project.
o Create empty direcories within your project.
o Write data cds on-the-fly directly without an image file or with image file. It's also possible to just create the image file and write it to cd later.
o Rockridge and Joliet support.
o Rename files in your project.
o Let K3b rename all the mp3/ogg files you add to your project to a common format like "artist - title.mp3".
o For advanced users: support for nearly all the mkisofs options.
o Verifying the burned data.
o Support for multible El-Torito boot images.
o Multisession support

• Creating audio cds:
o Pluggable audio decoding. Plugins for WAV, MP3, FLAC, and Ogg Vorbis are included.
o CD-TEXT support. Will automagically be filled in from tags in audio files.
o Write audio cds on-the-fly without decoding audio files to wav before.
o Normalize volume levels before writing.
o Cut audio tracks at the beginning and the end.
• Creating Video CDs:
o VCD 1.1, 2.0, SVCD
o CD-i support (Version 4)
• Creating mixed-mode CDs:
o CD-Extra (CD-Plus, Enhanced Audio CD) support.
o All data and audio project features.
• Creating eMovix CDs
• CD Copy
o Copy single and multi session data CDs
o Copy Audio CDs
o Copy Enhanced Audio CDs (CD-Extra)
o Copy CD-Text
o Add CD-Text from cddb
o CD Cloning mode for perfect single session CD copies
• DVD burning:
o Support for DVD-R(W) and DVD+R(W)
o Creating data DVD projects
o Creating eMovix DVDs
o Formatting DVD-RWs and DVD+RWs
• CD Ripping:
o CDDB support via http, cddbp and local cddb directory.
o Sophisticated pattern system to automatically organize the ripped tracks in directories and name them according to album, title, artist, and track number.
o CD-TEXT reading. May be used instead of CDDB info.
o K3b stores CDDB info of the ripped tracks which will automatically be used as CD-TEXT when adding the ripped files to an audio project.
o Plugin system to allow encoding to virtually every audio format. Plugins to encode to Ogg Vorbis, Mp3, FLAC, and all formats supported by SoX included.
• DVD Ripping and DivX/XviD encoding
• Save/load projects.
• Blanking of CDR-Ws.
• Retrieving Table of contents and cdr information.
• Writing existing iso images to CD or DVD with optional verification of the written data.
• Writing cue/bin files created for CDRWIN
• DVD copy (no video transcoding yet)
• Enhanced CD device handling:
o Detection of max. writing and reading speed.
o Detection of Burnfree and Justlink support.
o Good media detection and optional automatic CD-RW and DVD-RW blanking
• KParts-Plugin ready.

طریقه نصب:

برای نصب0.11 K3B به این برنامه ها نیاز دارید:
KDE >=3.1.4
QT >=3.1
Cdrecord/mkisofs
Dvd+rw tools
برای دیکودینگ MP3 به libmad نیاز دارید.
برای FLAC++ و OGG Vorbis به کتابخانه های مربوطه نیاز دارید.(البته این موارد با توزیعات معتبر توزیع می شوند)

طریقه نصب مانند برنامه های دیگر است.ابتدا برنامه را دریافت کنید و در محل مناسبی کپی کنید.
سپس در یک دایرکتوری موقتی آن را باز کنید.

tar -xjvf k3b-0.11.10.tar.bz2
به دایرکتوری مذکور بروید.

cd k3b-0.11.10
دستورات زیر را تایپ کنید:

./configure
make
su -c "make install"
(برای مرحله ی آخر به کلمه ی عبور روت نیاز دارید.)

نکته» در فدورا 3 این برنامه درست کار نمیکند و باید طبق دستورالعمل سایتش چند خط به یه فایل اضافه کنید

Audacity یک ویرایشگر صوتی آزاد برای لینوکس ،ویندوز و MacOS است.

برخی از مهمترین ویژگی های آن:
۱:ضبط صدا
۲:ویرایش فایلهای صوتی MP3,Ogg Vorbis ,WAV
۳:برش،کپ‍ی و ترکیب صداها
۴:تغییر سرعت و دیگر ویژگی های صدا

Recording

Audacity can record live audio through a microphone or mixer, or digitize recordings from cassette tapes, vinyl records, or minidiscs. With some sound cards, it can also capture streaming audio.

* Record from microphone, line input, or other sources.
* Dub over existing tracks to create multi-track recordings.
* Record up to 16 channels at once (requires multi-channel hardware).
* Level meters can monitor volume levels before, during, and after recording.

Import and Export

Import sound files, edit them, and combine them with other files or new recordings. Export your recordings in several common file formats.

* Import and export WAV, AIFF, AU, and Ogg Vorbis files.
* Import MPEG audio (including MP2 and MP3 files) with libmad.
* Export MP3s with the optional LAME encoder library.
* Create WAV or AIFF files suitable for burning to CD.

* Open raw (headerless) audio files using the “Import Raw” command.
* Note: Audacity does not currently support WMA, AAC, or most other proprietary or restricted file formats.

Editing

* Easy editing with Cut, Copy, Paste, and Delete.
* Use unlimited Undo (and Redo) to go back any number of steps.
* Very fast editing of large files.
* Edit and mix an unlimited number of tracks.
* Use the Drawing tool to alter individual sample points.
* Fade the volume up or down smoothly with the Envelope tool.

Effects

* Change the pitch without altering the tempo, or vice-versa.
* Remove static, hiss, hum, or other constant background noises.
* Alter frequencies with Equalization, FFT Filter, and Bass Boost effects.
* Adjust volumes with Compressor, Amplify, and Normalize effects.
* Other built-in effects include:
o Echo
o Phaser
o Wahwah
o Reverse

Sound Quality

* Record and edit 16-bit, 24-bit, and 32-bit (floating point) samples.
* Record at up to 96 KHz.
* Sample rates and formats are converted using high-quality resampling and dithering.
* Mix tracks with different sample rates or formats, and Audacity will convert them automatically in realtime.

Plug-Ins

* Add new effects with LADSPA plugins.
* Audacity includes some sample plugins by Steve Harris.
* Load VST plugins for Windows and Mac, with the optional VST Enabler.
* Write new effects with the built-in Nyquist programming language.

Analysis

* Spectrogram mode for visualizing frequencies.
* “Plot Spectrum” command for detailed frequency analysis.

Free and Cross-Platform

* Licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
* Runs on Mac OS X, Windows, and GNU/Linux.

ImageMagick نرم افزاری آزاد برای ایجاد،ویرایش و ترکیب فایلهای تصویری است.این برنامه توانایی ویرایش نزدیک به صد فرمت مختلف فایل تصویری را دارد:(از جمله GIF, JPEG, JPEG-2000, PNG, PDF, PhotoCD, TIFF, and DPX)


Use ImageMagick to translate, flip, mirror, rotate, scale, shear and transform images, adjust image colors, apply various special effects, or draw text, lines, polygons, ellipses and Bézier curves.

* Format conversion: convert an image from one format to another (e.g. PNG to JPEG).
* Transform: resize, rotate, crop, flip or trim an image.
* Transparency: render portions of an image invisible.

* Decorate: add a border or frame to an image.
* Special effects: blur, sharpen, threshold, or tint an image.
* Text & comments: insert descriptive or artistic text in an image.
* Image identification: describe the format and attributes of an image.
* Animation: create a GIF animation sequence from a group of images.
* Composite: overlap one image over another.
* Montage: juxtapose image thumbnails on an image canvas.


دو کتاب Definitive Guide to ImageMagick و ImageMagick Tricks نیز در مورد آن نگارش یافته.دومین کتاب که در حقیقت یک راهنمای عملی برای استفاده از این برنامه است توسط شخصی به نام سهیل صالحی نوشته شده که یحتمل ایرانی است.ناشر این کتاب بخشی از سود حاصل از فروش هر نسخه را به پروژه ImageMagick اختصاص داده است.
