Mozilla Posts Firefox 4.0 Beta 1 Build

سلام.
شرکت Mozilla، نسخه جدیدی از Firefox رو (البته بدون سر و صدا) روی FTP خودش (http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/4.0b1-candidates/build1/win32/en-US/) قرار داده (دیروز صبح). نتایج WebKit SubSpider Benchmark رو میتونید در این شکل ملاحظه کنید:

نکته جالبش جلو افتادن IE9 هست !

این نسخه beta 1 نیست و فقط نسخه کاندید beta 1 هست. در حقیقت یک نسخه nightly.

در ضمن در این نسخه هنوز استفاده از GPU به طور پیش فرض غیر فعال هست که در صورت فعال کردن شاهد افزایش چشمگیر سرعت می شید.

باز هم ارتباطی به بنچمارک مورد اشاره نخواهد داشت؛
چون استفاده از GPU منحصر به پردازش کارهای گرافیکی از قبیل چگونگی نمایش فونتها، Canvas و SVG و ... هستند و ارتباطی به نحوه اجرای اسکریپتها توسط انجین جاوااسکریپت ندارد.

This is SunSpider, a JavaScript benchmark. This benchmark tests the core JavaScript language only, not the DOM or other browser APIs.

APIs: Geolocation, Offline (IndexDB, localStorage, AppCache, FileAPI – binary content of a file input, file drag and drop, web workers, websockets)
Websockets controller running the presentation from the mobile.

As to upcoming features to the core of Firefox, we heard about:


TraceMonkey (a new Javascript engine)
Lazy Frame Construction
Reducing I/O from the main thread
Improved startup Time
Hardware accelleration
GPU text/graphics/video rendering
Using GPU for text rendering
JavaScript JIT (JaegerMonkey)
HTML5 parser running own thread
slicker interface
no more modal dialogs
no startup interuptions
updates in the background


The plan is to ship RC1 in October – let’s see if that works out :)

در این نسخه هنوز موتور جدید JägerMonkey (http://hacks.mozilla.org/2010/03/improving-javascript-performance-with-jagermonkey/) قرار نگرفته است.
همچنین Hardware Acceleration همانطور که مشخص بود در این نسخه به طور پیش فرض غیر فعال است.
برخلاف روش معمول موزیلا قرار است هر چند هفته یک بار یک بتای جدید از نسخه 4 منتشر بشود.
