Job summary
Work directly with the CTO and report to him Responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems. Serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems. Recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department. Performs full supervision of Operations staff.
Tasks/ Responsibilities
Architecting and designing a complex and high performant cloud based architecture that meets business requirements
Maintain and administer applications, operating systems, and hardware related to Linux/Redhat Servers based operating systems servers.
Provide frontline support for customers in the form of System Administration.
Provide hands-on/virtual support in accordance with mission requirements.
Develop and implement documentation including policies, procedures, checklists, and guidance specific to Windows related systems.
Maintain system readiness through the implementation, administration, and management
Installs software, applications, monitor performance and troubleshoot alerts from commercial, open source and locally developed monitoring tools, system failure analysis and recovery ; insuring the consistency and integrity of file systems, hardware/software configuration and management
You will create and maintain technical documentation as it relates to systems, infrastructure, and processes as well as implement IT standards and best practices
Implement centralized monitoring solutions for IT infrastructure
Qualification and Skills
Multiannual experience as a Linux System Engineer (RedHat / Debian)
At least 3 years of experience with AWS administration, ideally with Chef or comparable Tools
Experience with Nginx, Memcached, MySQL, PHP, DNS, GIT
You worked on Continuous Integration and caching strategies (e.g. Jenkins CI, Varnish,...)
Demonstrate technical skill, knowledge, expertise and proficiency for a minimum of three (3) years possessing high level of expertise with Patch Management software such as RedHat Satellite, and administrative tools such as, PowerShell cmdlets, scripting Microsoft snap-ins and pstools.
Demonstrate technical skill, knowledge, expertise and proficiency for a minimum of three (3) years as related to deploying, designing, optimizing, and maintaining the following RedHat components: DNS, DHCP, FTP, TCP/UDP, IP ROUTING, SSH/SFTP/SCP, DNS, NFS, LDAP, SMTP, NIS, YUM/RPM, SAN/NAS and Virtualization.
Knowledge and Ability
Group Policy Management – Evaluate Group Policy Objects, and recommend process improvements
o Manage group policy across the enterprise
o Create/Modify/Maintain Group Policies
Ensure the performance, availability and scalability of our platform as well as support the developers rolling out new features or new services
Involved in planning, design, implementation and support of infrastructure for business-critical production environments including: deployment of servers, monitoring, process improvement, analysis and resolution of application related issues
Provide a strategic vision of the system growth
Ensure proper stability and performance of the underlying infrastructure is in place
Understanding and translating business requirements into technical requirements
love to automate things instead of doing it again and again
love to build scripts with Shell and Ruby and can read PHP
know, how to setup a good monitoring
love agile methodologies
like to embrace new technologies
Fluent in English
