شاید بشه گفت ubuntu یکی از سریع ترین توسعه های لینوکس از نظر توسعه و انتشار بین استفاده کنندگان از لینوکس بوده است.
اوبونتو رو می شه از سایت اش به صورت رایگان دانلود کرد یا اینکه سی دی های اون رو سفارش داد و از اون استفاده کرد.
اوبونتو رو میشه به صورت زنده (live) اجرا کرد و اگر اون رو پسندیدید، از همون طریق نصبش کنید.
اوبونتو از ابزار های مدیریت بسته debian استفاده می کنه که عمل به روز رسانی رو (با یک اینترنت پر سرعت) خیلی خیلی ساده کرده.
اوبونتو بر اساس هسته debian بنا نهاده شده و برای کاربران فارسی هم بسیار مناسبه...
اما در عین حال، به خاطر محدودیت های حجمی (محدود به یک سی دی) خیلی از بسته ها رو شامل نمی شه یا حتی برخی بسته ها رو به دلیل مشکلات لایسنس یا هر مشکل دیگه ای در منابع آنلاین خودشون نذاشتند.
حال مجموعه ای با نام easy ubuntu اومده و برخی بسته های مورد نیاز رو که بیشتر به درد کاربران خونگی می خوره، مثل پخش mp3 یا مشاهده و ذخیره DVD یا ... در یک مکان، به صورت مجتمع و خودکار(!) جمع کرده و اونا رو در اختیار کاربران اوبونتو گذاشته... مسلما از این «منبع» لذت خواهید برد.
